Morat Insurance Services Inc. located at 3942 Park Avenue, in East Memphis, was established originally as Morat Insurance Agency by Bill Morat of Memphis, in 1950.
What started back then, as a small business in Mr. Morat's residence, grew with time, into one of Memphis's well known independent agencies. To date, it is still family owned and operated.
Jan Morat Henderson, a licensed agent and employee since 1977, maintains her father's standards of business practices managing as President of Morat Insurance Services, Inc. which is the sales division of the agency and also President of Morat Premium Plan, Inc. which handles the premium financing of the agency.
Over the years, the agency has been proud to be a member of the Better Business Bureau and The National Federation of Independent Business along with several insurance organizations such as Professional Insurance Agents of Memphis and Tennessee and the Insurors of Memphis and Tennessee.
Morat Insurance Services has been given several awards for outstanding services from their companies for their many years of outstanding service.
Morat Insurance specializes in competitive auto insurance rates, sells a wide variety of other coverages including home, life, health and commercial risk policies, annuities, etc. As an independent agency, Morat Insurance represents many A+ rated companies which enables them to shop and compare the prices and provide for their customers the best rate for the best coverage.
A licensed agent always shops and compares rates, according to each person's individual needs. Once you become a customer, an agent continues to review each policy again at the time of renewal, to determine if that company has the best rate. Morat Insurance is one of the few independent agencies that have their own finance company, Morat Premium Plan, Inc. This enables their customers to make a low first payment allowing them immediate coverage and the balance of the policy to paid locally to Morat, in low monthly payments.
This is helpful to customers who don't want to mail their payments out of town directly to the insurance company, and allows a grace period in the event of late payments to prevent the policy from being cancelled.
